foodstuff 9: dumpling soup, or a variation thereof

One thing I love about soups is that they’re so easy to make and it’s so hard to make a bad soup (in my opinion). With this dish, the main ingredients were cilantro-chicken dumplings and leftover baked chicken thighs.



  • chicken dumplings (mine were the frozen ones from Trader Joe’s)
  • cooked chicken
  • chicken broth
  • sesame oil
  • black pepper
  • rice vinegar
  • basil
  • spinach
  • chopped onions

Boil the onions, basil, pepper, chicken, and dumplings in the broth until the dumplings are heated thoroughly. Turn off the heat and add a bit of sesame oil and rice vinegar, and the spinach. Stir until the spinach is wilted and serve!
